Our client base has an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system integrated with their LIMS. Critical business decisions are made around the clock by the rapid processing of test results.

The LabAnswer support team had seen a trend of intermittent issues with the ERP system at the LIMS integration point. As this system was operating in a 7x24 mode, any issue impacting production processing was deemed critical and required resolution in just a few hours regardless of time of day or day of the week.

Solution

The support team worked closely with the support solution architect to determine that the combination of a highly customized ERP/ LIMS interface and older version of a LIMS component was the root cause after systematically eliminating many other potential issues including networks, databases and servers.
